I have a Dell 640m laptop with no inbuilt microphone.

Basically I want to keep a microphone plugged in to the laptop at all times on the mic jack.

It should be as inconspicious as possible, since a big mic hanging on the side really ruins the look of the laptop and black colored as another requirement.

I saw some really tiny bluetooth dongles on the USB port that aren't even visible when plugged in and pretty much blend in with the laptop's side body colored in black.

The one that I currently have is this one :

It works well but I want something more inconspicious.

Is some similar microphone available with really good sensitivity ? I really want to use it to record lectures in my University.

    Hey amol,

Here are some mini-microphone alternatives you can choose from:

    Notebook Mini Microphone, Hama
-This one from Hama looks pretty sturdy and is off horizontally, compared to your vertical mic. However, it's got a mixed bag of reviews. One user says it works great w/ Skype, while another simply hated it.

Spyker Mini Microphone for laptop SPY-MIC-OV-M391
-This one looks alright too. It's almost the same as yours but I reckon it's a tad smaller and probably has more flexible angles to record from.

Mini Microphone 3.5mm Perfect for Laptop White
-This one looks like it could isolate the recording sound a little more. Pretty cool too that this has a carrying case I think.

Mini Microphone for iPod Nano 4G / iPod Touch 2G
-This one's actually for the iPOD, but is significantly smaller than the other alternatives. However, I'm not sure if it would be fully compatible with notebooks, but if it fits in the Mic Jack; it could possibly function like the rest.

    Hope it helps...
