All I need is tips on how to clean my matte screen. I'm afraid to use anything, and thought I'd ask. Thanks for your help!

on my matte screen, i just use the screen wipes from walmart. It always did the trick.
On glossy, that is a different story. -

This is a little off topic but I was watching HSN selling a gateway. The sells man recommended wetting a paper towel to whipe of the glossy. I just laughed.
I use this spray stuff and a special cloth I got from bestbuy on my Matte. I also have some special screen whipes. -
I have had my gateway with a matte screen for around 3 years now... I just use a wide paint brush, with semi hard bristles; the width of the brush is about 2inches at the end.
I just dust my keyboard and the screen every day while the computer is booting up. By doing this, my computer still looks in great condition, not a speck on the screen. Once or twice every 6 months i just take a damp microfiber cloth with some water and wipe it down.
Hope this helps,

I also use the microfiber towel method. Just a little warm water on the towel, squeeze the heck out of the towel to get the excess water out then gently wipe the screen. The warm water helps the screen dry right away and the the towel takes any dust and smudges with it.

I have the micro-fiber shammy, and also a brush designed specifically to remove dust from screens (it looks like a little squee-gee). But I think the ultimate trick to preserving your screen is just don't let it get dirty in the first place.
That said, I've always wanted to respond to threads of this nature with "SOS soap pads will remove that ground-in notebook dirt in no time." -

I'll just use a damp microfiber cloth, which non-electronic stores carry these?

Microfiber Cloths are fairly common, i am sure you can find them if you look. Yes... i believe that a brush like that should be standard equipment for any electronic equipment.

There will be several different types. You want one that's about 75% polyester and 25% polymide(or about). Many won't list the makeup on the wrapping, so pull the towel out and look at the small tag on it. It'll be listed there.
I got a 12 pack from Target for about $7.00 or so(I needed some extras to use for my car). Buying in bulk is obviously cheaper. Two would be plenty, so if you have a few friends who might want them, might consider splitting a pack. Wash them first...maybe even two times. Sometimes they'll feel "staticy" at first. I just make sure to use it only when the laptop is off, as an overly cautious safety process. -

A drop of water and a micro fiber cloth. Period. Don't waste your money on magic screen cleaning potions and apparatus. I got my microfiber 2 for $3.99 at Schucks Auto supply. You can too!...They're still making them...

I suggest some sort of microfibre cloth like the ones used for glasses or get yourself a Shaggy Mac which also collects dust and protects your screen when closed.

I love mine.
Whenever some idiot touches my screen I clean it off with my breath and Shaggy Mac.Works like a charm~! Just make circular movements.
I tried screen cleaners but they left swirls, I didn't like that. The sample given to me with my Shaggy Mac left smears and swirls, so I just use water or condensation from my breath.
