Gotta ask yourself this. Will you ever use it and see yourself controlling games with your eyes as a beta tester? 100% gimmick if you ask me.

But to pay a price premium like that just to login to your account? That's a heavy price to pay for just logging in every once in awhile.

    No.

It's proof-of-concept right now. Which means that they have great working technology... But they don't really have a problem that this tech can solve yet.

The best they came up with so far is that it takes too long to log in to windows. Tobii can help with that. But even then, it's not a problem that is so painful that alternative solutions (I.e. typing in a password) don't exist.

So. It's cool tech. But currently, useless cool tech.

So it doesn't help in the games that it says it supports like division, Assassin's creed series (some of them)?
    I.e. Uses except logging in

Def the only worthwhile use for me so far is windows login, and I've found it particularly useful especially during the initial setup of a clean install... and if you can get it already installed in a laptop then yeah for go it... otherwise why even bother asking since the in game demonstrations were clearly gimmicky?

It's like having a keyless door with biometric entry, or keyless entry to your car, or an electronic passport to bypass long lines... all which one would use "once in a while"... are all of the alternatives absolutely necessary that you'd be willing to fork out a premium? well obviously not... but I own all the aforementioned technologies and what I can tell you for sure is that the little things matter, and yes it does make my life easier... to your original question, well it just depends on your personal circumstances..

Does it help in games that support Tobii? Not really.

Let me put it this way... the technology works in games. But it doesn't add anything to the gameplay experience. Nobody was sitting around, thinking "Yeah, this game is great... but you know, it would be even better if I could control part of the camera with my eyeballs."

Ultimately, I think eye tracking has uses in future versions of high-end VR headsets. As it is, Tobii doesn't have a purpose on regular laptops.
