I have a Lexmark Optra S 2450 commercial printer. I bought it about five years ago with a 30,000 page capacity toner cartridge. The Toner low light goes on, and probably has like 2000 prints left with the cartridge.
A replacement toner cartridge for a 17,600 page yield toner cartridge is like $400. I cant seem to find a 30,000 page cartridge.

My question is, can I cut a hole in the toner cartridge of my dead Lexmark Optra T612, and funnel the toner into my Optra S2450 toner cartridge?

The T612 cartridge is like half full and weighs about 4lbs. If I transfer the toner to my 2450, will the toner work in my printer?

I dont know if there is a difference in toner weight or viscosity between the two cartridges?

Any help would be great, and much appreciated

actually K-tron, there is normally a toner re-fill plug (white) used to refill cartridges. as long as the 'weight' or toner density is the same, it is perfectly acceptable to refill a cartridge
