    Which is the best deal?

    Samsung 2220WM for $199
    Acer x223wbd for $169
    Westinghouse LCM22W3 $167
    Evision G22LWK $150

None are for gaming. I would just watch movies, internet, word files, Photoshop on it. Any personal experience with these monitors?

On paper, the Samsung has the best brightness and contrast ratio.

However, there's no telling until you go look at them in store as it is all based on personal preference.

I believe Best Buy has all these monitors available for you to look at despite the fact that only Target sells the Westinghouse for that cheap.

Mind sharing where you can find that Acer on Black Friday? I need a monitor myself.

I've checked newegg but reviews are so sparse for the Samsung monitor. In terms of accurate coloration and sharp pictures, which one would you guys recommend. If you have any other deals on 22", that would be great too.

The samsung is the best monitor. But it is also the most expensive. It all depends on you. I'm sure any of them will be fine for basic use.

I agree and think it's worth the extra money. If the difference in cash isn't too big a deal for you, I recommend the Samsung, though I'm sure they're probably all pretty nice monitors - especially at those prices. A few years ago, I bought what I thought then, was a beautiful 17" Samsung (173P, I think) at a fair price. It was very highly rated - for $650!

There was a 22" Viewsonic with iPod dock for $190 ut it was an open box item. Basically, I just want the best monitor for the money. Samsung's are great but I'm not too sure of the other brands.

So the consensus would be that the Samsung is worth the extra money? I wish there was more reviews on this particular model. I've read about 1 review for the Westinghouse and Envision (which were rather poor) and I own an Acer (but it came with okay image quality and a dead pixel which was disappointing).

Hanns-G also makes quality monitors, for prices slightly below that of the same Samsung monitors.

I got the 22" (16:10, 1680x1050) Westinghouse from the local Target.

Compared to my 17" (5:4, 1280x1024) monitor, this thing is massive. I can work on two standard 8.5" x 11" documents side by side (it's not an actual size 96ppi like the other monitor, but the 90ppi is close enough).

The built in speakers are good for general use and iTunes-quality music, but anything higher fildelity sounds dull. There's no inline power brick, it's probaly inside the monitor shell, so that's a big plus.

There's no adjustable viewing position, the monitor simple snaps into the plastic base. In my situation, this one fixed position was not a very comfortable one, it was pointed too far down. I padded the front of the base with a wad of post-its.

Despite its faults, it's an awesome monitor for ~180 USD.

I also bought the Westinghouse LCM22W3 from target for $167. I went from a 17 inch Sony LCD, to Westinghouse's 22 inch and have to say this is a huge improvement. Much more desktop space and gaming is much better. Best bang for the buck!
