Alrite, just wanted to know which sleeves you guys thought were the sexiest and most appealing. I have compiled my choices, and just wondering what you guys think? :p

    4. Waterfield laptop sleeve
    www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm

This sleeve seems really versatile and durable, serving multiple purposes

    3. Sumdex ImpactGuard sleeve
    www.sumdexsolutions.com/core/PUN-852.asp

Clean and simple, also comes with a very convienent handle

    2. Radtech Rebound Series
    www.radtech.us/Products/SpecialtyBags.aspx#Rebound

    Sexy, just plain sexy.

    1. Booq Vyper
    www.booqbags.com/Detail.bok?no=97

This baby looks so rugged and sporty, its hard to look away.

Anyways those are my choices, keeping in mind I chose them mainly because of looks. Obviously its actual usage and protective characteristics may not be up to par. But for sure these are eyecandies to behold.

On a side note, does anybody know what the "stretchability" factor is for these cases? as in, how many millimetres extra can you stretch these sleeves if... say they state the depth of the sleeve to be 1.6". Cause my Toughbook W4 is at 1.8" at its thickest point, just wondering if i can somehow get it snug in there? Anyone that has bought these sleeves previously would probably know best, please provide some guidance this way.

Alrite guys lets see some ratings!!

I like the Booq but there isn't a handle. Sumdex is not made for 14 inch WS like mine. These are fairly snug from what I have read. I never owned a sleeve due to these reasons.

Pah! No sexy sleeves for me - I'll keep mine in a beat-up old backpack as it will be accompanying me to school daily. Don't want to give anyone any ideas.

Waterfield is highway robbery - $40 to start on the sleeve...then $15 for a FLAP...then $12-18 for the shoulder strap...then $22 for a piggyback (which you need to order a strap to choose)...crazy.

I know Booq...etc has sleeves that approach this in price, but somethings wrong about starting out w/ a $40 sleeve and you end up paying $95 or more than double for all of the "features".../rant

I was told by a Radtech rep that the Rebound has absolutely NO stretchability. It needs to be a "true" fit.

True fit eh? I actually emailed the boys at booq and they said the same thing about the vyper, it having to be a perfect fit. I guess my toughbook doesn't really need a sleeve being a toughbook and all, but still it would of been nice..

^ Do you actually have one, and if so...what do you think?

I must say it does look appealing both on price and performance (allegedly).

Don't get zippered sleeves unless you like to enhance your laptop with scratches.

Most zippered sleeves have an extra lining that covers the zipper, so you just have to be a little careful when you slide your notebook in.

read the review by chazman, or was it coriolis, **** I forgot, but one of those guys did a review on the waterfield bags and sleeves.

I believe they are worth it. They double as bags. I think I'm going to get one.

Oh yeah I think it was chazman, but he praises the thing and its quality so yeah I trust him, because he's a stickler for quality.

Gonna save up and get one over the summer.

    Cheers,
    Mike

My WF. sleeve (and the strap and piggybag pouch) arrived today! I'm VERY impressed with the quality so far!!

Mind you i've only slid the laptop (1 week old Acer Travelmate 8204) into it once so far (it just arrived at the office a few hours ago).

The fit is top notch, and the material is VERY high quality.

I had them ship it to me in Canada, and was surprised to get it so fast as it came USPS. I was also pleased to see that no extra duties were tacked on at the border!

I'll get some pics with the laptop and bag a little later.

I'm pretty sure he said it's a Panasonic Toughbook W4...correct me if I'm wrong man.

JeffK, do you think it will provide some pretty good protection - is the cushioning thick?
