    hello everyone!

since I opened/unscrewed my Acer TravelMate TM8573T to clean the cpu-fan, the touchpad slide and buttons do not work any more.

Before playing around and opening it again, I would like to ensure, if I could have hurt a cable inside.
I can remember, that I had to unplug the keyboard cable + 3 other very small cables to reach the fan.
Could some of this cables be responsible for the touchpad? Or what else could have went wrong?

    thanks in advance!
    best regards
    Andreas

Most likely you just do not have the cable seated all the way or inadvertently pulled it out while you were putting it back together.

Yeah, you'll have to open it up... The keyboard has its own cable so it's pretty easy to check if it's not properly plugged in.. Hopefully you haven't damaged the cable..

ok, hope so - thanks guy!

but I'm not sure which calbe is responsible for the pad (its screwed together in a way, I can't see where it runs)

Is there an overview available? I can remember that there was written "MB" on each of this three cable: 1 very small, 2 mid-small (both under the space position) a bigger one (not the keyboard) under the ~ "O" "P" button.

I dont think that I hurt the cable, but a little piece of the "plugin-part?" which is just responsible to fix the cable on the correct position, was just a little bit deformed. I further fixed the plugins with a tape.

    thanks in advance!
