I used to have some sony in ear buds that have died. Primary use was travel on a plane to block engine noise.
What I liked:
-in ear
-had a sony box they fit in
What I did not like:
-could have blocked ambient sound better
-they were hard to get in the box.
I am leaving on a trip next week and want some good travel headphones.
They need to be availible via retail because I am in a time crunch. Budget is $75-$150 but for $150 they better be amazing.
I need them to be small otherwise over the ear would be an option... but in ear seems so much more portable.
ideas?

I've become a big fan of Jays' phones, but have no idea where you could get them locally. Besides, you didn't mention where you live... The sound isolation is good, and they're very compact. I can wear them on stage for live performance monitoring and they don't get in the way. And yeah, they sound great.
