So i bought this USB flash drive during my lunch break and plugged it right inot my lappy and nothing happened. I looked in start> computer and hoped to see the flash drive and nothing. Dont really know what to do. Any tips would be appreciated. Could it be a driver proble?Should i take it back and get a Vista certified drive or something? I paid $20 for it and consider it a good deal. Let me what to do.

    P.S. I like pie

When did you get this flashdrive and where was it purchased from?

Ever tried a flash drive on your notebook before? Go into device manager (Start -> Right click on My Computer -> Click on Manage -> Expand system tools if needed -> Click on Device Manager) Look for anything with a question mark or exclamation point. If you get device cannot start, or not drivers install most deffinately driver quirks in Vista. If you don't see anything expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers at the bottom of the list of devices, the cruzer will appear as a Mass Storage Device. Even if you don't see it go ahead and try installing this patch http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...25-280B-4613-A600-C61224BACD1C&displaylang=en. Hope that Helps.

I would say not, sometimes I see this issue with Vista where it simply doesn't install the given driver to a device properly. I've seen it happen with both the generic USB Mass Storage Driver which a Flash drive would use and the Media Transfer Protocol Driver (Otherwise known as MTP/ Playsforesure for DRM enabled devices) most non-iPod/Non Zune MP3 players use. That is what I would call a driver quirk in Vista. Thus the KB940199 hotfix exists.

I have one, worked like a charm in vista, works great in XP, and even works in 2000! (box says only XP/Vista! Sweet!)

anyways, I had some problems a while back with it not wanting to eject...dunno how I fixed it...

But yeah, get into the device manager as said above and look for exclamation points or question marks, before and after you plug it in.

Also, you could try turning the notebook off, plugging it in and starting the notebook up again.
