Trying to connect my Dell Inspiron 1720 pc to my LCD1504US 15" Hisense tv. I've connected my cords [VGA/SVGA Video Cable and a Stereo Mini to RCA "Y" Cable] but I don't know what to turn my tv to or what to do on my pc to get it going? My purpose: To view movies from my tv from websites through my pc.
I also have some repeat cords, which is still in the packages, S-Video cable, Mono audio/video cable, Mini Stereo Audio Cable and a VGA PC Monitor Replacement Cable. I purchased the same things from two different places just in case I didn't get it right or the store employees didn't get it right. Helllllllp!

On your laptop press Fn+F8, and on your tv, set it to PC or to AV(something).

It worked! Thank you so much for your help. Now I have to figure out my problem with the laptop headphone connector problem. I think that I have the correct cord but my laptop connector has expanded/caved in, and I can no longer connect the appropriate cord to it. I must talk with Dell about this. Thanks again for taking time to help. Have a good one.
