I understand there are accessory units available that allow one to use the notebook as a television, even access cable. Does anyone have any experience with this/can recommend such a unit? Thanks.

Are you referring to SlingBox? I don't have TV service, so no help there.

i think NEW asus notebooks has a built-in tv tuner now. some W series have that but if you want something else, you can have an external tv tuner box (connected to usb). spend around 50 usd for that.

ATI, Pinnacle and Hauppauge make good external USB TV tuners.

Any suggestions on which model to go with for an ASUS A8JS for best picture quality? High def? (I'm a Colts fan and am going at a function with no tv avail for the game this weekend, but will be able to pull it up when returning to the hotel.)
    thanks in advance
