I was wondering if I should get these headsets. Also do they have surround sound because I was at a future shop back up here in Canada and they had a surround sound demo of them and they seemed to so be surround sound but i'm not sure.

In my opinion I would stay away from the Turtle beach headsets. From what I have read and seen the construction on them is kinda shoddy. I normally always see them on special as refurbished on Newegg and other sites all the time. As with a lot of accessories it is always better to try them out yourself before buying as some sound great for some and horrible for others. Comfort level is another thing you want to consider as well. Want to get a set that will be comfortable for however long your gaming sessions are. I would also look at reviews for the quality of the microphone that is on it as well. I see a lot of people get new headsets and they say it sounds great but everyone says they sound like crap over vent or mumble etc. I would maybe state what your price range is and maybe someone can recommend a pair for you. Me personally I am a Sennheiser fan, they are a little more on the expensive side but their quality, sound and microphone are all top notch. Here is a link to some other popular ones The Top Gaming Headsets | PCMag.com . I have had a lot of people say the Logitech G35 surround set is nice and last a very long time. Maybe a few others can chime in here and give you a few other ideas as well. Good luck on you purchase! A great gaming headset makes a world of difference!

I have the G230's which are essentially the 430's without 7.1 sound. They're quite comfortable and really roomy in the earpieces, the mic's also good quality. The biggest issue is that they feel a little flimsy. This might has been upgraded in the 430's, and I've dropped/twisted the hell of the 230's and they haven't broken yet, so they might be sturdy than they actually feel.
I should also mention I have the TB X12's. They have more control options for the volume, but I find them uncomfortable after extended play. The earpieces are very shallow and chafe pretty quickly. -

From what I see from some of the reviews on the 430s, some are saying not comfortable for long gaming sessions because of the stiffness of the material they used in the ear cups. I guess it may depend on how big your head is hehe. Most stated the sound was good surround wise and while listening to music as well. Most used words like crisp, clean, mids came through well etc. Most stated mic was ok and came through clean but could be a little bit better. I really have not taken a long look at them but that is what I got from checking out some reviews real quick. I will say anything I have ever had personally that has been logitech has lasted an eternity lol. You may want to check out the return policy from whoever you buy them from in case you are not happy with the set you decide to go with as well.
Turtle Beach x12's good for gaming?
