    Hey ya'll,

I am in the market for a nice USB 3.0 hub for my laptop and I was wondering what you guys would recommend.

I've slowly accumulated a ton a computer peripherals and there aren't enough ports on my laptops to accommodate all of them.

I currently use an XPS 15 L521X as my primary computer / laptop turned into a desktop. It only has 3 USB 3.0 ports which is kind sad if I'm going to be using it as a desktop.
I am also currently using a MBA as my travel laptop and that only has 2 USB 3.0 ports.

So I am looking for a hub or two (one for desk and one for travel) that would pair nicely with these computers.

Preferably something sleek and made of metal to continue the theme of having a metal computer and some metal / modern accessories. The less plastic and ugly the better? I guess I'm being superficial about design choices.

I hope you guys have some good recommendations about what to get.
What are ya'll using and if possible please post links?

P.S. Also hoping this hub doesn't break the bank. I like it to be nice but not "Apple expensive".

Go with Anker USB hubs. A USB hub is pretty much a commodity... they are all pretty much identical, do exactly the same job, and do it equally well.

I found this one ( link). Anker USB 3.0 hub in aluminum so that it matches your MacBook Air. Bonus points for being only $20, and eligible for Amazon Prime shipping.

i don't have any recommendations, but i'd suggest a hub with its own power supply. depending on what's connected and how it's powered (and how many), you could experience decreased performance or increased latency. that anker does look nice though.

Thanks. I was looking at that one but 4 ports without a dedicated power supply seemed a little bit underpowered for me. I went with Anker's 13 port Aluminum one instead. It's newly released and I just saw it as a suggestion when I went to the 4 port one's page.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking.

The Anker one does look nice being aluminum and matching the quality of my computers.

I went with this one from Anker instead: [IMG]
