Any feedback from users of the newer USB 3.0 docking stations. Looking to run my Ultra-book off of one. Online reviews include poor graphics and quirky set up.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I've never used one but often wonder about the specificity of them. Does one really need to look to the manufacturer for a dock? I know the workstations have special connectors but for situations like yours, do you go strictly manufacture or is generic just as good?
One more thing, are the ports on the dock additive or replacements to those on the notebook? -
what do you mean by "RUN"? Do you mean as in using the doc to boot and run various OS's? I just got a Vantec Nexstar 3.0 dual bay aand it works fine for what itis and also has eSATA..........
Oh, nevermind mis read you are not looking for a doc but a docking station.......... -
Run meaning simply to operate. Use the Ultrabook in sorta desktop mode... I've used The Dell Latitude line for years with their proprietary docks. I'm switching my users over to Ultra-books and want a generic dock. Vantec seems more like a storage solution. I want to be able to plug into the USB 3.0 slot of an Ultra-book and use external keyboard, mouse, speakers, Ethernet, display and peripherals. I've seen unit from Targus, Kensington, even Toshiba. Hoping for real world feedback.
Thanks -
I'd be interested in something like this as well. Just a place to connect the screen and external storage + peripherals.
