Does anybody know where I can buy a USB A to A cable (males) that is reasonably short. It's for connecting my notebook cooler to my laptop.
So far I have only been able to find ones that are 6ft, which is way too long.

Forgot to mention I'm based in the UK
Shipping would cost me $28 on that website!

What about a standard dongle and an adapter, link.

I was hoping to avoid ebay, lack of paypal and that, so I'll have to send a postal order.
Weird how hard it is to find these things shorter than 1m... Thought they'd be pretty standard. -
If you want to avoid eBay how about this USB cable from eBuyer which is based in the UK? I tend to use them for my shopping and my experiences are positive with them. Along with PayPal they also accept Credit/Debit Cards too if you prefer that.
Or try Scan Computers based in Bolton UK with this set of cables.
I'm pretty sure on some transactions you don't need to have a PayPal account to purchase stuff from eBay. As long the seller states it accept Credit/Debit Cards you can input those details directly though it's usually quite obscure so you may need to scroll down to find the Credit/Debit Card method. -
Why on earth has a notebook cooler got an A port for power input?
Double check that that is definitely the right port - you sure it's not supposed to be used with an external power supply and can also charge USB devices from the A port, or something? -

So it came with the A-A lead & you've lost it or something? -

The cable was of very poor build quality and simply came apart, eventually it stopped working all together, I got pissed off with wriggling it until it worked, so I ripped the ends off completely and threw it in the bin

I think some cheap USB hubs might come with a short USB cable, but they're usually mini male though.

The end on the left is mini-USB male, the one on the right is USB A male. -
make one, get two usb cables, cut them at the length you want, wire em together (green to green, black to black, red to red, white to white) and cover each up with electrical tape and then cover all of them in a bundle with electrical tape. its not hard trust me.
