Now I'm not very familiar with these flash drives, but know they are kind of like an external hd, or an updated floppy. I was browsing for one, but realized that most say they are compatable with windows 2000, and XP. Does this mean it won't work with Vista? The one I was thinking of getting was the SanDisk 2GB Micro http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2284562&cp

They will work with Vista; most websites simply haven't updated their product pages.

As long as the flash drive is not U3, it should run just fine on Vista. U3 enabled flash drives, I hear, have some major issues with Vista.

Just delete the U3 trash from the drive, and boom.
I love my Sandisk Cruzer Titanium. Might not have the best transfer rated ever, but the lack of a cap to lose makes up for it in my eyes. -
usb drives are generally cross platform so 99% there won't be any compatibility issues (that's 1 great advantage over floppy where you'd have to format if you had a MAC version of a floppy disk when plugged into a PC). The thing about being "vista ready" is just a way that marketers try to make their products stand out. If you translate it back into "tech terms", it really means "ReadyBoost" compliant and that it's able to meet the transfer rates required for vista to use this feature.

Yes, any USB key will work with MS Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Vista is certainly included.

I have a Memorex Traveldrive Mini 2gb and it works great in both my home Vista laptop, my office XP system and my wifes PC (xp home)...
It has u3 in it and I'm not sure why people are complaining about u3... the latest update allows you to disable the auto startup and installing/using the portable apps is such a breeze!
