I have a Sandisk Micro USB drive that I use along with my Dell D630 (Vista Ultimate) and a strange thing happens. When I click to safety remove the device, it says the device was removed, the icon disappear from the explorer menu, everything is ok but the light on the USB device is still on. Why? I've tested on other computers and its ok, the light goes off.

Mine does it also, no matter what computer I use; desktop or laptop. As long as you eject it and it completes, it should not matter.

Same here. Nothing to worry about...it just means that the drive still has power.

Does this thing have the u3 software?

If it does, try removing it using the eject button in the bottom right of the u3 menu.

mine goes all buggy if I use the windows removal tool.

Yea. I think you need to use that before you eject the drive so that nothing will be writing to it when you yank the drive out. Don't you ever get that dialog that tells you to eject it first?

Eh it depends, I usually eject my devices prior to removal but sometimes when I am on the go, I make sure that the device has stopped writing and manual remove it.
