Okay, so I am trying to increase the battery life of my HP DM3.

I have undervolted it, I have disabled a core (so it has a 800mhz processor on the road basically), turned off bluetooth, and with the screen brightness at 30%, wifi on, I get about 5-5.25 hours. Out of the box it got about 3.5-4 hours at 50% brightness. After undervolting it and turning off bluetooth it got 4-4.5 hours with 50% brightness.

The 800mhz processing speed is fast enough for me to do Microsoft word/light web browsing and that's all I really do when I'm on the road.

I am still not satisfied. Is there some sort of device that connects to either the USB Port or power port or something that has a Solar panel or some other form of energy creating device??? I'm not talking about a huge clunking thing that can power the laptop by itself, I am just interested in a little one that could maybe extend the battery for an hour or two.

I wish HP would make a 9 cell battery for this laptop.

I have solar panel in my home that can produce energy in your different devices. Also the solar power charger and generator has a sufficient energy to power up your devices.

Guess you've already done this, but disable memory card readers etc in Device Manager.. Undervolt the graphic adapter, if there is one..
I don't think adding a solar thingy will give you much power. Invest in a battery with higher capacity?

Solar power is very hard on the road because it requires a large area of panels to get the power consumption up to par with a laptop, though perhaps with the enhancements you've done you could probably do it. But it's a lot of solar panel area. Have you looked at external battery packs for your laptop? They're a bit expensive but something like this is 50Wh, which is about the capacity of a 6-cell battery: Amazon.com: Tekkeon MP3450 myPower ALL Rechargeable Battery: Electronics
