USB/bluetooth media controller?

Is there such a thing as a media controller? I'm not looking for any particular connection method (wired, wireless, USB, bluetooth, etc.).. but if my laptop (that I will soon be getting) doesn't come with media controls, can I find one that would work? I know some laptops come with a remote that slides into the ExpressCard slot, but can I get a universal version? I'm just looking for a quick access to change songs in whatever media player I use, without having to switch between programs

And if no one has thought about making something like this yet, I demand a small check for coming up with the idea....

 

I have both of these and i like them both, if you just want a media remote... i recommend the mogo mouse ^^

the MoGo is more or less what i"m looking for, but according to the site, you can't change tracks if you use windows Media Player... And the DiNovo, I would love to have one, if I had my laptop setup to a 30+" TV in my room.. but for simple media controls (volume, play/pause, next, previous, etc), its just way too much..
