There are USB Audigy external sound cards. There is no X-Fi though. X-Fi is a significant upgrade from Audigy. I have a X-FI XtremeMusic and Audigy 2 ZS and the X-Fi sounds better especially with the crystalizer on. Creative said that the X-Fi be in USB but didnt say when. So the best bet now I think would be an external Audigy box which should definitely support 5.1. Actually I think the PCMCIA Audigy card should be able to output 5.1 as well since the chip they use should be the same.
