I have the thinkpad keyboard with trackpoint and I love it. But it does have a drawback that it reverts to numlock engaged when I reboot a windows system making me disable it to initially login. On linux however it works well, but requires a script to run at login to retain the ultranav scroll. The only other issue is the numlock situation messes with my razer naga so when I played WoW if I wanted the buttons to work on my naga the keyboard enabled the numpad keys meaning I had to toggle numlock on and off between using abilities and if I wanted to type (had a similar issue with an external numpad a while ago).

As of now I moved my server to a laptop so it sits, but Im thinking when I reformat the other server Ill use it again. Feels very similar to typing on an actual thinkpad.

I have heard these have a ThinkPad build quality, so the must be good. I have thought of picking one up before they disappear.

While typing this on my USB Trackpoint Keyboard, you should know that while the keyboard itself feels like that on my X220 (that is to say, excellent) the user experience is significantly different as far as usage on my Dell Vostro 460 goes.

The two most glaring issues that stand out are numlock issues (I have a bluetooth numpad), in which the numlock status on the USB keyboard and the numpad cannot be independently toggled. That is, if you want the numpad, your USB keyboard will go into numpad mode as well. You can't have numlock on but still be able to use your USB keyboard in normal keyboard mode.

Secondly, scroll is very, very finicky. It works and doesn't work in various different programs, having some very funky behaviour depending on what program you're using. Although it mostly acts like the scrolling on a native Trackpoint + Thinkpad, there are some key differences that just bug me. It might act as a scroll wheel, or it might act as a up/down/left/right button, or it might act as a scroll left/right but not act as a scroll up/down.
