    Hey guys,

I just recently bought a Belkin USB easy transfer cable ( http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Easy-Transfer-Cable-Windows/dp/B002PAR0AQ).

I've used it for a few transfers, but it is incredibly annoying to use the Windows easy transfer wizard every time I need to transfer something (usu. small) from my old computer to my new computer. (b/c it needs to scan the entire computer every time which takes a good while)

Is there an alternative software or utility that you are aware of or can find that would allow direct transferring more easily (like copy pasting files).

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to transfer files to another computer like you do with an external drive.

Thank you, and I'd very much appreciate the help.

Wow! There are real weird things being sold.
Under Linux I just use an rsync script (or grsync if GUI is preferred) to keep my computers and external discs synced. I'm sure there are similar softwares available for Windows. I know the good old Norton Commander could do that, but I guess it's somehow considered to be outdated nowadays.

The alternative is called a network. If your computers are already on the same wireless LAN then you can share files between each other.
