Hi all,
I have a 2017 HP Spectre x360.
On my work desk, I would like to set it up so I can attach one USB-C / Thunderbolt3 cable and get HDMI monitor, Ethernet, and USB 2.0 to my KVM Keyboard/Mouse.
I purchased a HooToo HT-UC007. It's a great little dongle, but I'm afraid it falls short for this purpose for a few reasons.
- For some reason, my Gefen DVI KVM is not detected in Windows 10 when I plug it into the USB-A ports on the HooToo. Plugging into my laptop's USB-A port is fine.
- When I unplug the USB-C from the laptop, the laptop charger keeps the dock powered on, and it doesn't shut off the Ethernet NIC. This is a problem because whatever packet floods/storms are going on shuts down the network switch it is plugged into.
It seems to me that I might have to go with a Thunderbolt 3 dock, but 1) they are more expensive and 2) I haven't seen any or many that have 45-60W of power delivery over the USB-C to charge my laptop.
Thoughts or product suggestions would be great!

Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
@muzicman82 I suggest trying another cheap USB-C hub/mini-dock, TB3 station is simply overkill for described usage.
