Hi all, thanks for help in the notebook area, now i need a mouse! :D

I'd like a generally good mouse, for al grips, and for playin' fps, and some mmo or rpg games like warcraft/starcraft.
When i play i mainly use a claw grip, with palm on the desk, this info can be useful?

I liked really much r.a.t. 5, but someone said that isn't that great, so don't want to waste money.

Actually i'm thinking about something like Razer Abyssus or Razer Lachesis, do you think one of them would be nice for me? Or are there better choices?

ps: i'm right handed, and my hand is big. Not insane big, but i'm 1.88 cm (6.2 ft), so is more than ''normal''.... :D

The Abyssus is definitely the choice you want to go with. For several reasons that is. I am sure if you google it you'll find out what I mean.

But basically if you have large hands I would recommend a G500 (take a look :D) good luck!

Thanks, but isn't the G500 a bit too big even for bigger hands? I use fingertip /claw grip, so i move the mouse only with fingers.... Don't know if that is confortable...

Also i have a doubt, i read on the forum that razer isn't so durable, is that true? I love to take something that can lasts really long, change the mouse isn't really the happiest thing of my life :D I love to take great pieces, even if spend some more, but then don't think more on that for at least 2 years...

Well the G500 is definitely a mouse for big hands :p no denying in that!

Durable? Well Logitech mice are without doubt the most durable, I don't whether to recommend it to you or not, but my Sensei is holding really good up, although it's not giant it has survived many trips from home and onto the ground :p

What do you want from the mouse? Do you want something that is as good as possible at gaming, or do you want something that is more a jack of all trades?

Also, my hands are smaller than average, but I claw grip a Logitech G400 or G500 with my wrist on my desk.

I'm searching a ''jack of all trader'' mouse, buut also really durable... Is the g400 only ''plug and play''? Or it need some firmware and other strange to install things like the razer mices?

Logitech G9x and Logitech MX518 (the G400 is the successor to the MX518, but some reviews state that the G400 randomly disconnects due to a cheap cable). The Cooler Master Xornet ($25) is also good because it is very durable, has an optical sensor (which means no acceleration), and has no software (just plug & play). I think the G9x fits the description of 'jack of all trades' the best right now, and the shape would be good for you since you use claw grip. Read reviews for each mouse and try them out at a store if possible.

Just avoid Razer if you're looking for durability.

The G9X and the G500 are pretty much exactly the same mice with different bodies, only the G500 has a few extra buttons. I personally can't stand the shape of the G9X, so you should try holding both mice before choosing one.

The MX518 and G400 are exactly the same hardware, including the mouse cable. Aside from the paint job, only the sensor's ROM and the mouse's firmware differ. And besides that, I would say the durability of this mouse is greater than the G9x or G500. But it really doesn't matter because Logitech has the best warranty in the industry and will replace your mouse if it ever goes bad within three years. The G400 is plug and play, but you can't change any settings other than DPI between 400, 800, 1800, and 3600 without installing the Logitech software, but it isn't anything like what Razer has. With the G9x, G500, and any other mouse with onboard memory, you can change all the settings you want including macros, and then delete the software.

That being said, I think the Cooler Master Storm Recon is THE gaming mouse right now. It is brand new. I wouldn't bother with the G400 anymore, and get this mouse instead. It gives superior tracking compared to the G400 and it has onboard memory, while selling for the same price. But if you need lots of buttons, want weights in your mouse, and gaming isn't a top priority, you can't go wrong with a G500.

Ok, last 2 questions: what's more heavy, g400 or recon? I love a mouse easy to handle :)
And also, is possible to turn off the leds on recon? Hate leds and flashes... Always turn off leds also from my keyboard, really don't like them!

happy owner of a Lachesis 5600DPI mouse here.
it's extremely comfortable, comes with two LED's, which you can switch off. has 4 programmable buttons(other than the scroll, left/right-click), two to each side, and DPI Adjust buttons(Which you can do in-game.)
wouldn't recommend it if you're into MMO's and RPG's a lot(4 is not enough?), but for every other game genre, it does the job.
