I just thought I'd share with the group a useful little device that I recently purchased to help with moving data around between different PCs/drives:

It plugs right into the back of a 2.5", 3.5". or SATA drive and gives you a USB output. Power cable is included, plugs into the molex on PATA drives and into the device for SATA drives, then the device has the SATA power connector right on it.

    Available on Newegg:

I have used this to hook a NEC-3550A up to my laptop and burn DVDs, even.

Does this work with 2.5" SATA hdd too? I've seen many products like this but I haven't seen one support 2.5" SATA.

I don't know, I haven't had an opportunity to try. If the connector is different from a regular 3.5" SATA drive, then no.

2.5" and 3.5" SATA connectors are the same.

Looks like it should support the 2.5" SATA. I know my 3.5" Sata External enclosure supports my 2.5" drives.

The SATA power and SATA data connectors are part of the same piece of plastic, so the arrangement of power/data would have to be the same on the 2.5" drives as well. Just FYI.

I was very surprised that it worked with my 3350A. I just plugged it in, selected the drive in Nero, and started burning. Wish I had added the DVD-RW to the Z33 when I bought it, though.
