Mainly i need to know how to get the input to work. i went to my display properties-> settings, then i click "2" the second monitor and check the box "extend my windows desktop on this monitor" I can't get anything please help! thanks, laptop is a toshiba a135-s5427, if you can include how to check to see if i have the vga driver if there is one for it that would be great. thanks so much

You have a converter?? or an adapter??

A simple adapter wont work in most cases, you need a powered converter.

You should just get your video drivers from your manufactures site and that part is taken care of.

My bet is that your adapter is not what you need. You cant eve make VGA to go Composite w/ Audio as it only has video signal.

Thanks for your response. I believe i have an adapter rather than a converter but I'm not sure, hee is a pic of what it exactly looks like.

I believe my drivers are all set. I can't think of anything else other than how i am switching monitors in the display menu. But then again ive tried every option so im out of ideas. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yep you cant do it with that. Common mistake, common enough people make a living off people selling those adapters that only .000001% of users can use.

This is what you need: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...VGACON_V_VGACON_VGA_to_Composite_S_Video.html

No they are not cheap, and the quality is not that great so its very situational.

Monoprice.com had a great one for like $30.00 but looks like due to some issues they are out of business now or atleast temporarily down. They sold stuff like this way cheaper than everybody else.

if your hooking to an LCD tv good chance it already has a VGA connector in it already, just get a VGA to VGA ( D-sub15 Male to D-sub15 Male ) cable

Vicious is correct those adaptors are useless in all but the rarest of cases.
