So so i was making a computer into a home theater pc for my uncle the other day with his off the shelf gateway pc and it only had vga output on it. Sadly his tv only had hdmi and component inputs. Anyways, i remember hearing a lot of people talking about vga to component cables here for their tv. Anyways, i thought i would go buy one. Of course best buy doesnt sell them so i ended up having to go to microcenter which was an hour away. When i got there the sales associate specifically said that he did not think they would work with a computer to a tv. Sure enough, on the packaging of the cable it said this in bold writing right on top. I ended up getting a graphics card with dvi and a dvi to hdmi cable just to be on the safe side that the cable would not have worked.

However, have any of you that recommended this cable to others actually gotten it to work from a computer (pc or laptop) to your tv?
