I want to buy this mouse ASAP to replace my Logitech LX5. I read conflicting reports over the scroll wheel clicking function - can it be made to middle-click or not?

Also, can the dongle be used for my Logitech wireless keyboard, or will I need the old one as well?

If by middle-clicking you mean scroll wheel click, then I don't think so. At least I haven't found a way with my MX revolution yet. If your Logitech wireless keyboard also uses the 2.4ghz wireless frequency you shouldn't need the old one. All in all, the revolution is still a good mouse - the free spinning scroll wheel is just plain fun.

Edit: Nevermind, even on the MX you can still middle-click by assigning either the right scroll or the left scroll to Universal scroll.

I don't know about the keyboard part, but I do know that the scroll wheel can be put to the "Middle Button". I just checked it. I doubt that the keyboard will work, though.

You can set any button on the VX revolution to any function for any program you want.

So for example, I set my middle button to the default document changer function for generic programs, set it to the old "middle click" for firefox, etc. I don't ever use the "middle button" for anything else though, since the 4-way wheel thing takes care of scrolling in all directions pretty fast (and you can adjust that too).

Thankyou very much helping me out guys, I use the middle-click functionality a lot in Firefox. Just to see if my current set is 2.4Ghz!

i use the middle click button a lot.
I have mine assigned to 'close' application. No more cursing top right for that [X] box on anything!
