The way I figure it, the USB corded mouse I have has a part that sticks out as well that's also about 1 inch. So there's no real difference in that regard. Still I'm going to wait and hope that they come out with a VX Rev with a smaller receiver. The Nano was very uncomfortable when I tried it out in the store. Granted the store had it's display angled at 45 degrees (why couldn't they put their mice on a FLAT surface?!) so I could be wrong.

I have had it for about a week now - I love the thing. It is a perfect size and shape and all of the buttons and wheel are easily reached. I actually have the receiver on a Belkin USB dock so I do not notice it at all!

Got mine at Tiger Direct for $40 and have a $20 rebate form. Apparently it was a special rebate deal for Tiger Direct and CompUSA. It only lasted about a week. But I would have still paid $40 for it!

If I was gonna get a wireless mouse for my notebook, I'd go internal bluetooth and Dell's bluetooth mouse. For non-bluetooth, the Nano is hard to beat.

Otherwise, the MX revolution is what I would buy for my desktop. Too bad i'm in love with my MX518.

how do you btw configure all your buttons on your mouse...any special settings you could recommend???

what SW are you using, I think that there is something called "Ubermouse" as a improvement of Setpoint... do you recommend that?

My mouse arrived today btw... I don't have my lappy yet though and have to pick it up at the post office =/

I was thinking about using the CD that was enclosed - my zoom buttons don't work - and the lateral scroll seems to have disappeared - but those are really minor to me overall.

i looked up bluetoof mice and have looked around and it seems they get about <1 month battery life. and they seem to have only 1-3 options when i look at the store. so what bluetoof offerings does logitech have the last @ least 3 months?
