No guys, unfortunately they are not making one (at least as far as I know)![]()
Rather it is a question:
Do any of you know why Logitech is not making i.e. the Revolution or the Nano with Bluetooth connection?
Is it due to size issues (not being able to fit the BT technology together with the added functionality), instability, lack of demand?
I know for a fact that my "dream" mouse would be the upcoming VX Nano with Bluetooth. Just a shame they're not making them.

i think it might be a latency performance thing...
just speculating. but bluetooth definitely has high latency and low bandwidth compared to a 2.4 ghz rf connection. -
lol usually questions are followed by what we like to call a question mark and it looks a lot like this -----> ?
why would you want a bluetooth mouse? wireless mice seem to be perfectly fine. I think its cuz bluetooth tech is just not as fast with mice type communication than a typical wireless mouse. for games they are pretty bad so why make a mouse that isn't very good for games when you can make a mouse that is just as good but better at games? -
-
Yes they do but do those built-in ones activate as soon as the PC turns on? My old MX900's receiver worked even when installing windows. I doubt the built-in receivers would be able to do that. Also if you were going to buy one just cuz of that then you will probably use it on battery power as the purpose would be to save space to make it easily portable, but bluetooth further drains the battery and quite significantly in some.
I thought of it myself but with a receiver like the nano, I doubt the built-in thing would be so important. You could probably leave the nano receiver in the laptop all the time even when it's in a bag. -
One of the big things is that many people have a total of 2 usb slots. So to use 1 for a mouse is very inconvenient. BT can be used for more than just mice as well, so you could have a headset and a mouse active without plugging anything in at all. many view this as a more attractive solution because it has a sleek look, nothing sticking out of your notebook at all. Not even a little button size receiver.
Many people also got the BT because they thought they would use it. They want this mouse to be BT just so they can use their BT. -
heh i have BT and the biggest issue I have with it is that the software and drivers are very buggy and this is a problem. at first they worked fine with my nokia but now it has constant troubles connecting and sometimes its sorted by pairing again and sometimes nothing will fix it. if BT had standardized drivers and software that were mostly bug free then yeah I would always use it but sadly it doesn't. and 2 USB ports? lol whoever bought that piece of crap should get their money back! I would expect 3 only but 2 is just being cheap

Alot of people use bluetooth mouse with ultraportables. Most ultraportables dont have many USB ports. Also bluetooth mouse with built-in bluetooth in notebooks means no dongle. This is a huge plus for many people who just dont want to have another small piece of hardware to worry about. As for standardized drivers i dont know what you are talking about. The vast majority of people uses the Windows built-in drivers so I think it is standard enough...
The Nano is a different case because of the tiny receiver. Im thinking of getting one however my trusty V270 hasnt failed me yet. The tiny reciever will work perfectly with my tablet since the USB ports are not flush with the sides of the case. Therefore the reciever will be totally invisible. However this is the only mouse with such a small reciever.
Finally Iv had more interference issues with WiFi with RF mouse than Bluetooth mouse. -

As for why I would like a BT mouse: same reasons as BuckEyeFan and Lixuelai. -
heh the same kind of comment when ppl say 17" laptops are too heavy. not everyone is too weak to carry them around. My dv9000t is perfectly portable and not as HUGE as people keep babbling about. I would gather the demand for bluetooth mice isn't enough to warrant a lot of models. With software issues, the BT protocol is less popular. And yeah BT probably has better range but if u have a small laptop, i fail to see how u cud sit at a distance and be able to see the screen
unless u use it with a larger screen.
hey i aint against BT mice cuz I had one myself but I doubt there is much of a necessity for it or else they would have made one eh -
Try and understand that some people are very mobile and travel and are on the move most of the time. They might carry their laptop around a couple of hours a day along with many other things. And no a student backpack is a no-go for most business people. Some people are using ultraportables for those purposes instead of your 17 inch book. It's not a competition - different notebooks for different profiles.
You try and carry around a 17 inch 3 to 4 kg laptop in a bag on your shoulder along with your 400 to 800 gram adapter and your documents, etc from airport to airport and office to office. Then try and pull out your lovely 17 inch notebook when sitting in coach class on some of the more exotic airlines and see how much room there is to actually maneuver yourself. Then let's see how long your laptop lasts on a 10-12 hour flight when there is no plug for your adapter.
Come out of the pond and show a bit of respect please. -
LOL im the blabbermouth? two posts and one of them is up there. how ironic that u call others this when u go on yourself
oh and dont presume to know someone and accuse/insult them just cuz u dont like a comment or two. or would like me to direct your own words on you as you seem to be the same thing you accuse me of being lol
yes many ppl value portability but not everyone cant handle carrying a 17" around but many presume that ppl who want portability should not consider anything larger than a 15.4. and ur comment about carrying it around? I have and I aint a very strong person but I have carried my laptop with charger and other stuff AND a backpack full of books and clothes on each of my shoulders for hours so i know what it's like.
stop ranting and blabbering, its just ur second post
VX Revolution and Nano with Bluetooth connection.
