Hi, I own a VX revolution mouse but I'm having trouble configuring the mouse to use in games. I used Setpoint software and added my games under "Programs" and set up the buttons to do certain things in set point, but the games seem to not recognize those buttons. The buttons I'm talking about are the backward and forward buttons, as well as the zoom buttons. I was wondering if anyone can tell me the correct way to go about setting up those buttons for games. The games I'm talking about are Battlefield 2142 and Bioshock, thanks!

Yeh with the software games and most programs will not recognize them as mouse 4 and mouse 5.

I tried installing the driver and after 1 day I said the hell with it. It's not worth it. It breaks the side buttons in games, you gotta assign a keystroke in the game and then in the software you gotta set application detect and then assign the same keystroke to the button.

Note that the Software also screws with sensitivity and acceleration. The zoom won't work without the software but it's not worth it.

It doesn't work by just going into the options menu in the games and then going to key bindings and assigning the forward / backword buttons to a specific key? Thats how it usually goes in games and thats how it was on my logitech g5.

If you install the software it won't be recognized. If you don't install it and just plug and play then the button will be recognized.

Hm that's interesting. So what is the point of the setpoint program? Would certain buttons not work for other programs if I stop using setpoint?
