Hi all,
I have an old laptop sitting around ~ A Compaq Presario.....2500?
Anyways....I plan to take the whole thing apart ~
I want to make the hard drive into an external ~
I'm planning to buy the Vantec 2.5 SATA to USB 2.0 & eSATA External HDD Enclosure ~
Does anyone have any experience with these enclosure?
Is it any good?

Anyone know?

I have used this enclosure - actually own two of them now - best 2.5" enclosure in my opinion. You won't go wrong with its purchase. I got mine from NewEgg for about 15 dollars.

Vantec is a good brand. I have one but not that exact one you posted.
If i remember correctly the Compaq Presario 2500 uses IDE/PATA drives not SATA, so that enclosure will not work. I suggest you verify this -
I have several vantec hard drive enclosures, they all work perfectly.
Flipfire is correct, check what drive you have and get the correct unit for it. -
if it's an "old" laptop, chances are you need the IDE 2.5" enclosures.
I have this vantec and it works fine. However, through USB, it transfers the same as the cheaper Coolmax $10 case that I got. -
Hmmm ~ Ok.....I see ~
I'll be taking apart the laptop soon ~ So will find out if it's IDE or SATA ~
