I just recieved this cooler in the mail and it's width is close to about 12". I have a 17" notebook. Can I still use it or is there a wider cooler available? If so, what kind and where can I get it. I need something really good! Thanks..

I just found a couple coolers that accomodate 17" screens. I would like to get some feedback from anyone who has one this wide or could recommend a certain brand. I'm not lazy to do the research, i'm just super busy right now and need something fast. Thanks again

The Vantec Lapcool 3 afaik is basically a Targus Tornado Chillmat w/ a diff paint job + Targus crossed out and Vantec written over it...that said they were built so that u could use it mainly on ur lap and on the desk (well, that's wot the Targus was designed for so i assume it's the same w/ the Vantec)...but if u'r looking for a decent cooler for a 17" gaming laptop i think there are some gamers i kno of that swear by the Spire Pacific Breeze...another one that i can say works well is the CoolerMaster Notepal W1...i use this on my 17" macbook pro at work and it works very well at cooling it down...

yeah, i have heard of those. It seems there are not many coolers to choose from. I'll keep looking. I think I like the coolermaster the best so far, although the blue led's are pretty sweet on the spire but i think i'll stick with performance for now. Thanks, and if you have anymore ideas passem along!

Antec is another company that makes them...afaik their coolers perform very well if you can still find them around...another brand (that i haven't tested) is Thermaltake...
