I am in the market for a well made and professional looking Macbook shoulder bag that would be equally appropriate in an office setting or at a coffee shop. I had a TUMI T3 messenger bag, but my Macbook didn't quite fit right and would slid around the laptop compartment. I have been looking at the Knomo IMOLA 13":

and the Thom Bihn Empire Builder:

I'd like something that really secures my 13" Macbook, and protects it from just about anything. I need it to be well made, and have a compartment to hold papers and portfolios. I'm most curious about peoples impression of the Knomos since I haven't been able to find any reviews for them online.

Well...I ordered the Knomo Imola 13". If someone is interested in a review let me know. Also, if anyone is interested in a brand new (still in plastic) silver tumi t3 messenger bag for $100 shipped let me know.

My husband has the Waterfield Cargo (large in the "lead") color and he loves it. He's still using his Powerbook 15", but I have one of their sleeves for my 13" Macbook and it fits like a glove. (They have a really detailed sizing system and make something like 50 different sizes.) The quality is pretty amazing. My husband has had his Cargo for over four years and it still looks great. I haven't had my sleeve that long, obviously, but it's built to last. Here's the link to the sleeve page: http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm
Good luck!
