Hey guys,
For the past three weeks, I've been sitting on an SF-19 cooler by Cooler Master and the only thing that bothered me constantly was the vibration that the 140 mm fans made. There's a thread in this forum about using rubber tape to reduce vibration, but you can very simply do the same thing with a single household item: a rubber eraser (yes, the kind you use to erase pencil markings).
What I did was cut the eraser to fit snugly in between the two fans.
Literally, fit an eraser between the two housings of the fans.
I made two pieces to dampen the vibrations more evenly. Just shove the rubber pieces between the two fans (assuming you have them set up with a gap in the middle) and you will be very surprised at how much quieter the entire thing becomes. Well, I was surprised.Try it and let me know how it goes for you. It's a lot less work than installing a fan silencer or using rubber tape.

I like your engineering approach, seriously. Rubber is known to absorb vibration at the most and the way you have made use of it is seriously amazing. I will definitely try this thing too with my cooling pad

I dont think this work for every one. =(

i just got one of the sf-19's, i got the usb 2.0 model, i looked for the usb 3.0, but i couldn't find one for a reasonable price, my cooler also suffers from the vibration when the fans are ramped up, the laptop im using is an alienware m17xr4 and it looks nice on the cooler, i just wish the vibration wasn't there, im going to try to make a gasket from some thin rubber and see if it helps, thanks for the idea superwashcycle

My solution was to replace with super quiet AeroCool dead silent 140mm fans and remove the top mesh to double the airflow while cutting the fan noise in half. The old fans were load and one wore out in 2 years, but the body of the cooler is strong and still good.
Very simple vibration reduction modification for Cooler Master SF-19 cooler.
