Hi. I'm looking at either an m1330 or a Vaio SZ, and unfortunately neither has an s-video out or similar port that would let me output to a non-hdtv. Does anybody know of a usb2 or expresscard (or whatever else) device that would let me output to a tv? I suppose a scan converted might work but I'm concerned about that since they are usually big and not very good quality, but please let me know if that is the best option and what you would recommend. I saw that a few video capture cards had output, but I wasn't sure if that would work for my purposes. I want compatibility with Vista, but I'm willing to wait for driver upgrades if necessary. Thanks.

Well I know that the M1330 has HMDI... if push came to shove... you could always hook a ton of converters together lol... like HDMI>DVI>VGA>Video Out (Composite/S-Video).

It's a stretch and may not help but im just saying if you were desperate lol

Using that many adapters will cause a delay and eventually destroy the HDMI port from the power draw :p

There is the XG station; it uses the expresscard slot. Outputs to DVI, and has surround sound too. Negatives for your situation though is 1. It is an external graphics card solution, so its not using your internal graphics card no matter how good it may be, and 2. its not out yet, but there is a nice long 39 page discussion about it in /asus/ though.
