My external HD is getting full, so in the near future I'll be looking at adding another one to the mix. Only thing is, I'd like for all my films to appear seamlessly in one folder, so I don't have to search accross 2 hard drives.

I don't know whether this is even remotely possible or not.

Is there a way to make Win7's Libraries show the contents of a folder but not the folder?
Ie. now it shows up as like this:

Is there any way not to have those 3 locations segregated, as if it were just the one folder?

Alternatively, is there an alternative way to "trick" Windows into thinking that 2 hard drives are one single drive? Perhaps a special USB hub?

Only thing from the top of my head for two hard drives to be recognized as one is RAID 0 o_O

Windows home server does that too but it isn't just a small trick ;) Need more hardware to run it.

My WHS box has had 5 drives at best, and all clients see is one huge storage space.

RAID is basically your only reliable option. Not really feasible for a laptop unless you have a built in RAID controller randomly.

These are external drives, I didn't think you could raid them...

I'm going to look into setting them up as dynamic drives...

You can organize them differently. Instead of grouping them by type, show them as thumbnails.

on the right of your picture it says "arrange by: folders". change that to arrange by "rating".

i think that should do it.
