    i recently received an HP Deskjet 845c from my dad when he replaced it with a new unit, but i cant get Vista to recognize it. i went to Hp's site, and they say they have no software for this particular printer, but that their "basic" driver would make it work fine. it displays driver install dialog each time i plug up the usb cable, followed shortly by "your device is ready to use", but it doesnt show under any print menu, list of printers, nor is it an option to print from in works. any idea how i can get this thing to work?

    Looking at HP site it is said that some functions may not work!!!
