So yeah, ill post some pictures of it later, its really nice. I originally got it for a tv set in my room... but then realized that im gaming on a laptop with a 15 inch screen... and my mom thinks that its way to big to use as a computer monitor. So what really is too big for a computer monitor? Ill also post a link in a min for you to see it, i got it from costco.

I'd say there's no "too big" for a computer monitor. It all depends on viewing distance and position, size, and resolution.

If the 32" looks good to you, then why would someone say it's too big?

I have a pair of 22" widescreens at work. Side by side they are really too wide. I have a 20" non-wide at home. I've thought quite a bit about monitor sizes. I've considered getting a 24" or larger wide for home, but the single 20 is doing a pretty good job for me.

At work I've thought about what would be better and I've almost decided what I need is a single larger monitor- maybe 26" or larger, and a pair of smaller non-wide monitors with one on each side of the big monitor. Most of my work is CAD and I could put my main app on the big monitor in the center. I typically use the extra space to park extra menus, or to park email app, text windows, notepad, etc., instead of running full blown apps.

I use my 42" 1080p HDTV through HDMI for my monitor every now and then, both for gaming and general use.

It's pretty nice when view/editing photos or video, and it's great for games. I wouldn't plan on using 100% of the time though... Text can seem pretty small and hard to read.

What about reading text on such huge screens? Won't that look like crap? I am curious about this.

On a 1080p screen, that's 1920x1080, so it's a pretty high resolution. As long as you can get a TV that displays the whole picture, as in 1:1 pixel ratio, and doesn't try and stretch or shrink it in any way, it should look really sharp. You do have to be careful with using TV's as monitors though, and make sure you get one that doesn't add a bunch of screen "enhancements". They usually work for TV and movie usage, but doesn't work out so well for monitor usage.

I use my 52" Samsung LCD as my docking station monitor and sit around 10-15' away. I have to drop the screen resolution to 1360x768 because the text is extremely small at 1920x1080 from 15' away, and I have better than normal vision.

As far as the sharpness of the text, it's actually quite good at 1360x768 from my viewing distance, and my laptop is only connected via VGA. I wouldn't want to look at text while sitting close to a large TV though. Obviously, the pixel pitch will be huge compared to a regular monitor, but I'd be more concerned about neck strain caused by reading edge-to-edge at a close distance.

Hey Red_Dragon...cable management. It's good for ya. :D Also, if your Bell'O stand's mounting bracket is designed as moronically as mine is, don't ever try to mount a 52" TV on it without nylon lock nuts, large pieces of anti-scuff furniture pads, and a bubble level. (Actually, I looked it up, and your mounting bracket is much better designed than mine.)

im with the there is not too big tv you can use especially if you sit far away from the tv like i do.

i currently use a 52" sony bravia xbr for my laptop and consoles. the only thing that looks terrible on it is the Wii. everything else looks really sharp and can read it just fine. here ill give yah guys a pic although i dunno if itll come out very well since my camera is a crappy 8mp and i have to take it from kinda far away.

(Yes i know i need more space lol) you guys know of any good cable management stuff i could get my wires everywhere are driving me crazy

I bought a roll of 25 velcro cable ties on eBay. They were less than $5 and the least amount of hassle because I don't have to measure and cut wire looms to size or be stuck with the semi-permanency of zip ties.

Lol, this is an OLD picture. My setup has completely changed. Also cables were messed because i had just set it up when i took that pic. I actually plan on going to 46" after this TV, 40" is nice but im gonna have a much bigger place soon and it may be too small. What kind of Bello do you have?

wow! Your setup is a lot like mine. Very nice, is that a camera phone you took this pic with?

As for cable management mine has a cable management built into the stand thats what i have in the center of the stand there.

I have the Bello FP-8501HG. I like the way it looks, but the mounting bracket for a TV with a 400mm mounting screw distance (as is the case for a Samsung LN52*) is awful. It essentially works by having two free sliding vertical rails that are supposed to anchor down to the two removable horizontal support brackets that are attached to the pillars of the TV stand. Since each bracket and rail has one long slot instead of discrete holes, I can make rhombus and parallelogram shapes with the brackets and rails. You need a framing square to make sure all four corners are right angles. Also, the included hardware for the brackets (four thumbnuts) are way too insufficient to ensure that a 60+ lb. TV doesn't slip.

I really like the support on mines and im surprised ours is so different.

I cant really get it down but looking at that picture i do NOT remember having the two parallel vertical supports on the sides. I just remember using the top and the bottom of the support. I really like the way mine felt though, it was really secure when it was on there. I hope i didn't lose the stuff, i moved my stand from Canada to Florida and haven't unpacked it yet. Nor have i unpacked my TV i basically haven't used my Series 6 in over 6 months now :(

It is a really nice stand though, i like how the frame bends in, very sleek. I chose mine because i wanted the touch of color with the rest of the TV.

Your mounting bracket makes a lot more sense. One horizontal bar with the two vertical rails only horizontally adjustable on the bar so they can't rotate and twist out of square.

I wonder if they made that stand because of the Samsung TOC TVs. I like several of Bello's stands; the one I chose just happened to have a mounting bracket system from hell for its largest supported TV sizes.

Hm...........Ok, that makes sense, i was saying that the vertical bars looked different. It actually was a special edition for the Touch of Color thats why i decided to scoop it up when i bought my TV. The minute i saw it i was just like damn, i have to get this. I was at HHgregg and it was by far the nicest stand because i checked every stand in the store and that one just really caught my eye. The stand looks best in bright light though because you can see the accents of the red.

Indeed, it just depends on your application. If all you're doing is word processing it wouldn't make much since. But if you're a video editor it's virtually a necessity. And though I'm no gamer, I'd guess that would be a viable application as well?
Actually that was last seasons model.

Busting out the "42" Sony Bravia 1080p" card is like busting out it's a "BMW 7series" card. Then they say, "mmmhhmmm nice. what year?" and you say under your breath "'86"
    It's a XBR! In my dreams. It's a low-end model, KDL-42V4100.

I would have bought a Vizio (best prices) if they had a 1080p 32" at my Sam's Club. I ended up going to Best Buy (with vasoline in hand), and bought a 1080p 120hz 32" LG for $800... It's a fantastic TV, the true motion tech actually works well, but I don't have any other 120hz TV's to compare it too.. .1080p is fine up close, but when I get a wireless KB/M setup from the couch, I'll downscale to 720p.

Something to think about, why do I get 4 HDMI inputs but I can't have one lousy stereo audio out? I suppose I should go digital, but there's no reason to ditch my lovely Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers (with stereo headphone jack...)
