    Vostro 1500 Ac Adapter

    Recently bought a Vostro 1500. The computer only works on battery power. The AC Adapter will not start up the computer and if the computer is already on (with battery power), the AC Adapter freezes the computer when it is plugged in. The AC Adapter is a PA 10. It is not damaged (it will charge the Vostro's battery and also works on my other Dell laptop). When I did an online chat at Dell, the technician said we needed a new adapter. I don't think that is correct since the adapter works on my other laptop and it also will charge the Vostro battery.

    Any ideas?

    Well, it's your choice. Either have them send you another AC Adapter and try it out, or send the laptop back, either as a return or to be serviced.

    mine is pa-10...is yours a 90 watt psu or the 65 watt one. regardless tho, have them send you a new one and return yours.
