Guys help me choose. I like the revolution design and I had a chance to test it in Best Buy, but they did not have the Nano on display and were sold out so I did not see nano but on pictures.
I like the idea of nano reciever but I'm not sure on the design, espcialy on thoose back/forward buttons.
What do you think?
-
Personally, I find the Nano too small on the hands. I do like the tiny receiver but the size of the Nano, I just don't like. So I would get a VX Revolution over a VX Nano. Its my personal opinion, of course.
-
I can't really comment on the Nano, I never tried one, but I love my Revolution. Fabulous design and contours - the only thing is that I don't really have any use for the zoom functionality or the quick search.
I don't mind the size of the receiver, but that's partly because I use one of the new Apple keyboards, which has the USB slots recessed a bit under the actual keyboard, so the receiver doesn't stick out much. -
don't buy nano just because it have small receiver. nano is small (traveler) mice that is designed to use less space in the bag and to replace touchpad when possible. revolution is way better (ergonomic) solution - if you are right handed.
-
I really liked the Nano receiver too, but $70 retail is a bit too rich for my tastes. Where's everyone getting theirs? I might think about it if there's a deal somewhere.
-
the vx revolution is 29.99 at tigerdirect after rebate. i was deciding between that and the v270. bought the v270 because i needed the extra usb port.
-
A related question to one of the previous replies: Can the zoom slider function be changed to anything else other than zoom on the revolution?
-
of course it can. I have mine set to increase/decrease the volume.
-
i have both. i loved the nano in the beginning, but its really too small. get the VX revo.
-
Thanks guys on all your comments.
Will be ordering Revolution from Tiger Direct. That deal for 29.99 is to hard to pass.
On the other hand, Tiger Direct site says that the warranty is only 1 year, when Logitech site stated 3 years.
I tried to contact Tiger Direct via email but no response after couple days. Is their product is a special deal with Logitech, so they sell it much cheaper then everybody else, but you only get 1 year warranty?
Any comments? -
As far as the warranty goes, it will likely be that Tiger Direct will deal with the initial year of warranty and then for the remaining two years you will need to go through Logitech if a replacement or RMA were required.

I believe Amazon is offering the Nano for $56 plus free shipping, if I'm correct.
-
i ordered the v270, but the vx's price is so hard to pass up on. just can't stand the dongle sticking out of my laptop.
-
i love the vx revolution. it fits my hand perfectly with a gorgeous ergonomic design. has loads of useful buttons too. although, i never use the search button on it. the free scrolling thing is useful in certain occasions, i use the zoom functions for photoshop which is very useful, and the other ones as back/forward keys. the revolution isnt exactly small, so i think that the nano would be too small for me. depends on personal preference i guess. i dont know how much the nano costs, but the revolution is a decent price these days, i got mine for £40 ($80).
-
I have the VX Revolution. I couldn't stand not having forward/back buttons be used by anything but my thumb.
-
I'm definately agreeing with you guys.
This mouse rocks -
but i'm afraid it is too small. -
-
My situation is somewhat unique. Firstly, I'm a glutton for punishment. Most importantly, I have a tablet. My tablet is moved around a lot, and having a small dongle that I wouldn't break is more important than a little discomfort.
-
Guys, is the Revolution VX really bigger than the VX Nano?
I am planning on returning my nano because it is too small for my hands. -
Honestly, the nano is too small for me too.. i am a Revolution VX lover... it is so nice, that I am planning in getting one for my desktop computer also!...
Now, if size is really important for you, then you should check the nano, but if you work more than 30 minutes at a time on your notebook, the Rev is the way to go... -
anyone with a 15cm hand? gf really likes the nano but she autocad alot so i'm concerned about the 'long term' effect
-
-
will get the nano then,
Thanks Phil -
I just received my Nano. One cool thing is that the power for the mouse won't turn on while the receiver is inside it. I haven't used it yet, so I can't comment on the comfort, and I probably won't. To me, a portable mouse is something I bring along hoping I don't need it, so comfort doesn't matter as long as it works and doesn't break anything.
I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
Button the top left unlatches the battery/receiver cover. AAA batteries are pulled out with the piece of film beneath the "Nano Receiver >" arrow. Red button doesn't start or blow up anything, just releases the receiver.
Receiver sticks out a little bit after pushing the red button.
Hopefully my needs allow this mouse to stay in the bag.
Here's are the rest of the highish-resolution pictures.

This is a 12.1" Fujitsu tablet pc (small). Can you see the Nano?

Definitely the revolution. Not too small, great feature set and more comfortable than the nano especially if u have bigger hands.
-
I wanna order the VX revolution, but I want a carrying case to hold it in. I've been trying to look for carrying cases online, but nothing comes up. Can anyone direct me to a mouse carrying case?
As for the nano, can anyone show me how it looks in your hands? All the reviews I've read were 98% about the functionality of the mouse, nothing was really said about the feel. -
-
the revolution is the best notebook mouse i've ever used, and at 29.99 the price is hard to pass up... i got mine for 18.99 AR during a buy.com deal two months ago, and I love it
-
I returned my VX nano. it was too small for my hands.
-
I know you guys said the VX Revolution is great, but I see they have an MX thats more expensive...........worth it? Or is the VX Revo the best way to go? Also, is there any lag with the VX Revo?
-

I was really intrigued by the Nano, but I have to say after testing it out its not for me. I really like the ergonomics of the VX Revolution, and most logitech mice from my first Logitech mouse, the MX510 that I started out on my desktop with from the MX1000 I still use and probably will replace with the MX Revolution once that finally fails, and the Nano just seems like a huge departure, in terms of comfortability.
What I would like to see is Logitech create a revision of the VX Revolution with the Dongle of the Nano, and the ability to activate Hyperfast scrolling easier. Maybe a thumb or pinky switch. Oh and a carrying pouch would be nice. -
and speaking of a carrying pouch...does anyone know where you can purchase one that would fit the revolution? -
Guys.. cheap camera-pouch holds it nicely. I think pricebusters is a hawaii-only store, but I got my pouch for only $3.00
-
It's not that there isn't pouches available.. just would have been nice to have one from Logitech when the Revolution came out.
But, again, the biggest advantage the Nano has is the Receiver and the Hyper Fast scrolling. How it gets activated on the VX revolution is just plain stupid. Though I wouldn't want to give up a middle click as the Nano does.
Hopefully Logitech plans on a new Revision of the Revolution soon. It's a really nice, ergonomic notebook mouse. -
I see tiger direct has it for $24.99, compared to like $80 at circuit city...........what a steal
-
you better order it now from tigerdirect to get it for that steal of a price!
today is the last day to order to be eligible for that rebate! -
ordered it..........I should be getting my notebook tomorrow and then the mouse should come a few days later...........ah can't wait to game on it
-
I've had the VX Revolution for around 9 months now and I love it! I got so use to the scrolling speed + comfort + precision I went and got MX Revolution for my desktop! Hehe ^^
As for battery for VX, I've use around 3 battery so far. Not bad! -
the middle scroll button on the VX series is very stiff and annoying if your daily task involves a lot of middle clicking. CAD for example..
Dont buy this for CAD. Im looking at the Razer backs after hearing good thing from fellow architects -
For anyone still interested in the Nano, It's on sale at Staples for $39.98
-
that's a sweet price for a vx nano...
the one i ordered off of amazon came in and i was actually surprised at how much bigger it was...if i knew it was going to be that big, i wouldn't have ordered the VX Revolution...lol...oh well, at least my lil brother can enjoy the nano... -
I got to try out the Revo the other day, and I agree with all of the positive statement on it, it's very comfortable.
-
I ordered the VX Revolution the other day. Can't wait till it arrives. Seriously I can't wait. Why is it taking so long!!
-
I can't wait for mine...mine got shipped from Hodgkins, Illinois and it's to come to Sacramento, CA...I mapquested it and it should take 1 day and 5 hours to get here (give or take for traffic and breaks)...it left illnois yesterday at 6:52am...and it's still not in my town!!...how many stops did the driver take or how much traffic did he get stopped at?!?!...lol...kidding...but seriously, i can't wait... -
You hit the nail right on the head.
I just bought the VX Revo yesterday and I'm already regretting the purchase. (They sell it for USD$95 here)
The middle button is insane. I can't click on anything without scrolling or moving the mouse. I don't usually install the horribly overbloated software which comes with the mouse but I'm thinking of doing just that to see if I can change the search button into a middle mouse button.
The ergonomics of the mouse otherwise is wonderful. The only other mouse which I've used with such nice ergo would be the Intellimouse Explorer. I believe the MX would give the same comfort after looking at it. In fact, it's the ergonomics of the VX Revo which made me choose it over the Nano. Now if I were ever to find out that the Nano has a much softer middle button, I'd kill myself. *laugh*
Great mouse. Just be aware that your middle mouse button is basically crippled.
How does anyone click the middle button without moving the mouse? -
whwatan.. that's the exact reason I hesitated so long to buy it..
mines is arriving tomorrow, and I'm hoping I can get used to the stiff middle click.. I use the middle click half as much as I do my left and right buttons, so eh.. Tell me how well the search substitutes as a middle button -
I installed the horribly overbloated Setpoint.
I have successfully set the search button (which I don't need since there are keyboard shortcuts to it anyway. And you will be using the keyboard if you want to type a search right?) as my middle mouse button and I've solved the main gripe with the mouse now.
As it stands, the middle mouse button is useless so I have left it as it is.
Great mouse. Useless middle mouse button.
Not for lefties.
