I have the mx revo for desktop and vx revo for notebook. never liked the receiver sticking out, just kinda made things ugly. this little bugger is almost the same size as the vx revo, but lighter. and the receiver is great, now you can't even tell its in the usb. I still prefer the feel and ergonomics of the vx revo, but this is still a great buy esp for $40, but not more. I got waaay too many logitech mice now. G7, G5, mx revo, vx revo, and now vx nano. I gotta donate some away -
Cool, How, does it feel vs the VX? I may pick one up even though I have a VX,
-
tigerdirect's had it a long time now at 25 after rebate.. and now it's 29 after rebate.
I bought mines from newegg though cause tigerdirect fails at customer service.
I got mines today.. been using it for the past several hours, playing with setpoints, playing some starcraft, firefox-ing, photoshopping... sitting-in-my-bed-and-watching-a-movie-ing...
First off.. newegg is great
second...
Coming from a 4-yr old ultra-portable notebook mouse(2 inches long), the vx revo took a while to get used to because it felt heavier and bulkier than what I'm used to.
Had absolutely no problem at all getting it to work. I opened the package, put in the battery, put the usb receiver in my notebook, and it started working as a normal corded mouse would work. You don't need the setpoint software, but I'd recommend it cause it has some nice features that let you configure the buttons and mouse acceleration and such.
Was using it.. was awesome.. doing great... I tried to test the range, but I couldn't break the connection without losing sight of my monitor first.
So I was using it fine.. all handy dandy. Then I opened firefox.. MIDDLE CLICK!! argh.. well, so I had the scroll on smooth(and that feels really nice btw)... but it's really hard to center-click a link, without having it scroll up or down a notch.
I got used to it after a while.. and it wasn't as terrible as it was the first time I tried using it. I eventually set the search button as the middle click and that turned out pretty good.. not perfect, but satisfied.
I reeaally started liking this mouse when I found out I could set the thumb-button as the middle click..(the two side buttons are really responsive and easy to click). It's actually easier than using the center-click on my old mouse.
You can set it to backward/forward, or whatnot.. but I use it as a center click cause I have mouse-gestures for my firefox.
Now, the zoom feature, as far as I can tell.. is pretty useless. The zoom toggle isn't very smooth, and has too much resistance... it I could only get it to increase the text-size, and only on web browsers, office documents, etc.. It works nicely as a volume control though.. means I don't have to reach for my speakers everytime I want to change the volume now.
The receiver isn't as small as the vx nano, but it's a lot smaller in comparison to a lot of other wireless receivers, so I was pretty pleased about that too.
It also tracks really smooth with or without my mouse pad.
So yeah.. overall happy with my mouse, and I hope it swayed the minds of those who are unsure about this mouse. -
Don't see a rebate at Tiger any more
Ah, it's for Revo not Nano

I just purchased the Nano for $62. I have always loved the comfort of Logitech mice, but this thing has to be the least ergonomic mouse ever made in its price range. I don't think the trouble is as much the size as it is the ambidextrous design. Without the right hand angled buttons that I am used to, I find the weight of my fingers and the twist in my hand always clicking the right button. However, for the nano receiver I'll live with Carpal Tunnel.

My VX revolution arrived at my house today!!...but too bad i'm in San Diego for the weekend...guess i'll have to try and pull myself through till Sunday to finally enjoy it...as for the nano at staples, OutRigger, you got sooo lucky...lol...after I read the post about the nano sale, I called the nearest Staples and the guy I spoke with said that they're only selling it for retail and if I wanted the sale price, I'd have to order it online only...oh well...
-
-
Man.
You guys are lucky.
We buy it for 90 bucks here like I said... -
I don't really understand why you guys complain about the scroll wheel click of the VX so much. I agree it isn't the best scroll wheel click you can find, but it works fine with me. I use it all the time.
And the mouse is perfect for CAD! I don't use the middle click so often in my CAD program SolidWorks. But even if I'd have to I wouldn't be bothered by the mouse.
I don't use the free scroll mode very often but I really love the mouse! -
I jus ordered the Vx Nano and Vx Revolution from TigerDirect.com, cause i really dint know what mouse to get. The Vx Nano has a sleak look and have a tiny receiver and the VX Revolution seems to be very ergonomic.
Both mouse have great features. I will keep the one i like most when i get it and sale the other.
Does anyone can post pictures of how the VX nano fits on the hand? i really want to see. Thanks. -
-
I was also deciding between these two and i bought a vx rev and i couldn't be more please!
It has more buttons and is bigger than the nano. Fits my normal sized hand prefectly!
the only con is the reciver, but on the bright side you can store the reciver inside the mouse when you transport it!
Get the revolution -
I love my VX Revolution...
for those deciding between the nano or the revolution...

I'm using my laptop as a desktop replacement in my dorm.. meaning space/portability are not a priority as say, comfortability and ease are. The nano is a very cool portable mouse. But it's too small imo versus the normal VX. Most importantly, Office Depot had a sale and I got my VX for $40 whilst the Nano remains around $60..
-
Buy.com has it for $34 after $20 MIR. If you're a new google checkout user, save an extra $10 making it just $24! now thats a deal.
-
I used to have the Rev but the Nano destroys it. The only thing is that the Nano is way too overpriced that its unacceptable. Here you can get the Rev for $30 but the receiver was too big for me so I sold it
-
Huh? $30? Where?
BTW, could someone post the difference in sensitivity for both? -
I guess so, but I gotta ask... does the vx nano work correctly with the internal bluetooth of dell's notebooks?
-
-
i chosed the VX Revolution. the Nano is too small. small mice can only be used for short period of time only. the strong suit of the nano is the tiny tranceiver.
-
-
but trust me, get the VX Nano. It's not as small as people make it out to be. Its the perfect size and ergonomics. -
Anyways, yeah, the VX series notebook mice aren't Bluetooth, they're USB. Man, if Logitech did make a Bluetooth VX Revolution, I would buy that right away! -
-
Also I'm prolly leaning toward the Revolution. I've seen so many posts from people saying it's too small..so they return it!
BTW...I have huge palms, but small fingers...weird...
EDIT: Dude, this link is for Canada. I'm an American...darn!!! -
hmmm i saw the revolution and nano at a local store, the nano is smaller however we are talking about a small difference in size here. i think it is more cuz the revo is thicker especially on one side so it makes you think it is a bigger.
-
I buy one nano last month, i love it, it fits nice, its small and ergonomic at same time...
-
-
It gets sent back to the manufacturer and goes through more stringent testing than the stuff labeled "new". -
-
Just my own observation here, but, I love my VX nano. For me, I haven't found the size to be an issue. The Revolution's required right hand use was the fatal flaw for me. That and the size of the receiver. It's been wonderful lugging around the notebook without any fear of damage by way of the receiver sticking out.
-
So how smaller is the Nano compared to the Revolution? Currently have the Revolution, dont want to go down any smaller in terms of mouse size.
-
Does anyone know if its possible to use the nano receiver with the vx revolution?
-
no, its not possible
-
I received my Vx Revolution today. Great design, maybe a bit small for my hands... (Compared to my G5
)
There is a noticable lag with the mouse compared to the G5.
Is it normal? -
well it is a gaming mouse, the g5...
-
-
The setpoint software is kinda screwy to be honest, but once you tweak the settings the lag will disappear. At least it did for my VX Revo...
-
anyone with vx revolution and razer pro|pad, does your cursor jumpy ? or even use an A4 paper as a mouse pad, does it jumpy? mine does
only on wooden table, its not jumpy. -
I think I'm going to get a Nano for my laptop.
The mouse I'm using now for my desktop is a standard Advent one and I am pretty happy with that to be honest and it doesn't have any special features at all.
Also the way I hold the mouse only the tips of my fingers touch it so it shouldn't make a difference to me how small the mouse is. -
I have a Nano, and i can say it is perfect for a laptop. It one less thing to worry about when using a laptop. Just open your laptop, turn on the mouse and go. No digging around your bag for the usb receiver, no tripping and snapping the receiver, no having to unplug the receiver and reattach it after every use.
-
And that little receiver... oh baby.
I should also mention that Logitech has just rolled out the V450 Nano for $20 cheaper than the VX. It's a little bigger of a mouse, and not as precise as a Nano, but its also cheaper and might be worth looking into.
