For some reason I always seem to need to restart my laptop in order to start up my HD using firewire. It is like my laptop can only recognize the HD via firewire once every restart. Anyone here have this problem with this particular model? The HD refuses to be recognize by the OS, but its light turns on when I plug it in. If I use the usb interface, my OS recognize the HD right away. I was thinking of emailing WD customer support, but then they might say something is wrong with my computer or firewire port so I'll wait. Anyone know a way to check if there are any problems with my firewire port without the need for another device that uses it? I am using a M1530 with Vista 64-bit.
