I need a wireless notebook mouse with extra buttons to navigate internet and control volume from mouse itself. Some one told me Logitech mice come with SetPoint software to customize the buttons action and can be programmed to control volume from mouse itself. However newer logitech scroll wheel thingy cuts out the middle click button option from the mouse to use it for changing the scroll behavior instead. But I want to have the middle click option too. All in all a mouse with programable buttons, wireless and middle click..... Can anyone please make a suggestion... thanks

Volumouse will let you control the volume with your mouse
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/volumouse.html
wheelkeys will also do it

all comming up in this when "volume control mouse" is typed into google i recomenend logitech mice.. my desktop has had the same mx1000 for many years now and it is a beatiful mouse.. the only reason I dont use logitech anymore is they are fairly small mice now adays and for people with big hands get really annoying trying to click you may want to look at microsoft mice aswell -
I have the Logitech MX610 Laser Cordless Mouse and it has forward/back buttons, scroll wheel with middle click (not the new hyper scroll stuff), up/down/mute volume buttons, email and IM button. Also, there is a right-handed and a left-handed version.
I love it and haven't had any issues with it. I use it for everything from surfing the web to playing games. I haven't experienced any lag while playing games either. -
my vx revolution's middle click works like that of any other mouse.
has extra buttons that I use for volume, mute, back, forward.. -
How does the mouse feel in your hand and hows the battery life..Is it thin enough to fit into small mouse pocket of laptop bag? -
The price difference is because they're from different sellers. There is no difference between them. The $50 one is sold from Tigerdirect.com while the $100 one is sold from Logitech direct.
The battery (2 AA) lasts several months under constant use. In fact, I've only replaced the batteries once in the past year.
The mouse if very comfortable (for me). It's never hurt even after extended use (gaming and whatnot).
It's not a portable mouse though, it's a full-size mouse. If you're looking for a compact mouse, this is not it. I don't know how big of a pocket you're referring to.. I use a laptop sleeve and put my laptop/accessories in my backpack. -

It's not a big mouse, it's just an average ordinary-sized mouse. I believe it's the same size as the MX620, which should be in stores. I find it very comfortable and durable - I transport it loose in my backpack and it hasn't broken or malfunctioned or received any scratches so far. -
I use a Logitech VX Revolution; you should be able to find it for under $50 nowadays... I see it occasionally for $30-40 after a mail-in rebate.
It's a very nice mouse, even for the money. The free-spinning wheel is nice and extraordinarily useful, but can make the middle-click a little tricky to use. I bound the "search" button to middle-click instead. Responsiveness and tracking is very good, even on reflective surfaces. Battery life is excellent.
Most of all though, it just feels right in my hand. I can use it all day long without any discomfort. It's not too big to fit in a laptop case, but it's big enough that it still feels like you're using a mouse and not a Tootsie Roll. If I used my desktop more, I'd get another one just to leave plugged in there.
Durability is not bad. As with everything, you have to take care of it; I'm on my second, because I dropped my first one too many times (twice, both times 5-6 feet onto a linoleum floor). I also just threw it into a messenger bag with no padding, so it would get knocked around a bit.
I've had my second one for 4-5 months; I take much better care of this one (new bag, haven't dropped it yet) and have had no durability issues. -
I love my MX620 (similar and I believe the successor to the 610), but... it's not a notebook mouse, it's a desktop mouse. It'll work fine with a notebook, but it's full-sized -- big and relatively heavy. If you want portability... I'd get something smaller.

I absolutely love my Logitech VX Nano outstanding product. The usb receiver is tiny. You can leave it in your notebook and put it in a case or slide the switch on the bottom of the mouse. The mouse shuts off and the battery door opens. There is a neat little recepticle to plug the USB reciever into, now close the door. Time to use it again, slid the swich battery door opens and turns the mouse on. Push the red button and the USB receiver pops out to be plugged in. Very simple -really

It is worth $60, but maybe you can get it for a little less,
I got it for $45 at Staples but that was Christmas time. I see that Newegg.com has them for $45.99 and Office Depot has them for $49.99 also on Ebay for $48 free shipping.

i ordered one of that vx nano, can't wait to get it for a macbook pro
wish there was a mighty mouse that used RF instead of bluetooth for better performance, i like the mighty mouse that little ball in the middle is real neat

I use logitech v320 and mx518...feel is good!

Logitech or razor would be my top two choices. Somewhat pricey though, but you get quality back in return.

The buttons soften up after a while, and I like it better that way. In the beginning, I thought the middle button was tricky to use too, but it's really nice after you break into it. It has a soft, yet responsive feel, as does the mouse scroll, if you prefer the standard scroll over the hyper scroll. If not, I found that the first thumb button is a great alternative to the middle button.
The wireless dongle is completely a non-issue for me... It's very small in comparison with the exception of the vx nano's, and stores nicely 'inside' the mouse, whenever I take it with me. I often wrap a cloth around it, and toss it in my bag. Either that, or I empty my pocket, and toss it in there. Twice, I've spilled food on it.. still looks brand new. -
I'm looking at 3 different logitech mices... either the V320, V220 or VX Nano. Which one would you recommend? Is the VX nano really a lot better? It has 800 dpi compared to 1000 dpi on the others but also a smaller usb receiver.

you should really go to bestbuy and check out different types of mouse. if a mouse doesn't fit your hand comfortably you're going to be in a lot of pain later
-
thx ... -

Dell 5 button travel mouse $9 bluetooth

VX is better than MX for Notebook users who travel.. MX is more of gaming grade & high precision.. VX series focusses on application usage... For surfing, music etc.
Go for VX Nano
It has "Extra Buttons" & Worlds Smallest USB receiver as they claim -
i have the microsft presnter 8000 mouse its great for those that do powerpoitn presentations etc and its really sleek and comes with a case
since its blutooth you can leave the recevier behind and have all your usb ports free if your laptop has built in bluetooth -
Someone should make a thread about bluetooth mice and how they would lag/or not ... like the thread on bags & cases ... anyway pharaohsam are there any other microsoft mice that have bluetooth ?? i don't care about size infact i rather have a large 1 , because ill also use it for gaming ... thx
-
for manu4:
Simply... Waves travel faster in solids than in Air.
Bluetooth mouse has a higher Response Rate of 4 -10 MS...which is slow for Gaming (professional gaming)
Gaming mouse when set at polling rate of 1000 Hz gives mere 1 ms..thats like Realtime response. -
yeha if you opt for a bigger mouse there are plenty more options!
check out the logitech and microsoft websites for they're range -
-
i use a kensington usb thin version from best buy to about $20 and it is very accurate
-
I was worried about gaming with a wireless but the Nano has done better than me, meaning my brain lags before it does. I have now used it to finish DOOM Resurection of Evil, Half Life 2 and I also went back to Quake 4. I couldn't see an issue with any of them as far as lag.
One thing the Nano is small if you have big hands you might want to consider something else. -
anyway im just gonna try to find out the whole thing with rebates and all and then ill go with the nano ...25$ on the website given above which for the recored i found for 80$ at bestbuy ... a*******s .....
cheers.... -
Hi,
I use the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 for my XPS 1530, at home when I am sitting at my desk sometimes, and more when I am out-and-about. And, I really like it!!! It has worked well for me, and have had no issues with it!!(I got mine free from Dell as part of a gift card deal)
Here is a pic of it and some info for you:
http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Bluetooth-Notebook-Mouse-5000/dp/B000TG4BA0 -
I have been using Logitech VX Revolution for 2 days and it's great! Small, but not too small (I can't imagine using the nano) convenient and very portable.

I need the best possible wireless mouse for £20 (around $40). It's for a notebook but i'll use it most of the time at home and leave it on my desk, even when i take my notebook out.
I can get the Dell Bluetooth Travel mouse very cheaply, but I can't find anyone saying if it really is any good... response, comfort, long periods of use etc. Also it might be a bit small for long use as a kinda desktop mouse.
I might go for a USB one, but only if it has exceptional features.
Any help? -
Currently I using this one from Pleomax(Samsung) SM-2100, best retractable mouse on the market I've seen so far, it's not small/tiny or cheap built like the others at all, similar size to the Nano.
WHat is a good notebook mouse??
