I'm interested in getting a new monitor and I'm looking into 27" monitors with 2560x1440 resolution. My laptop has a i7-2630 processor, a 6770m graphics card, and 8gb ram. I'm wondering what kind of performance I would get out of a monitor with a resolution this large. I do game a bit, though nothing too crazy; mainly just Heroes of Newerth. I would imagine there would be a noticeable performance hit from a 768p or even 1080p monitor. Is 1440p going to wreck my framerates?

Unfortunately you can't use a monitor with that resolution. It needs a dual link dvi connector, but the dv6 only have vga and hdmi. Both up to 1920x1200.

Ah, thank you! I didn't think to check about that. Guess I will be going dual 23 inch monitors then.
