Im as topic says, going to wallmount my 2 LCD monitors.
I currently have a good wallmount for one of them, but thinking of getting either a new 2xmonitor mount, or 2 better 1xmonitor mounts.

The "problem" is that I wanto be able to adjust them slightly up and down (for comfort when sitting alot working with them..). Pretty much all mounts I can find aint capable of this, or they are very big and/or expensive.

2-3 inches up/down is enough, just that little tweak that makes all the difference...

Preferably I dont want the mount(s) to have to huge depth either, since then the monitors simply get to faar away from the wall, and to close to me.

Currently, I got 1 of the following:
    http://www.ergotron.com/Products/tabid/65/PRDID/70/language/sv-SE/default.aspx

Its good all in all, solid, easy to adjust the monitor etc, 70$ aint to bad, but its pretty deep, so the monitor gets faar away from the wall which I normall would like to avoid.

The monitors have vesa-standard, so that isnt a problem.

id probably rig something like those metal shelfs that have the slots cut in them, take a standard vesa mount and attach the fingers onto it to hook into those metal shelf bars and then you can move the height easy up or down as much as you wish only limited by how large you deside to make the mounting bars.

Other variations would be a friction based slider system using a metal pole, this would let you go up & down and also pan left/right.

you can get everything to do this in home depot or lowes, but I would get the vesa mounts off the internet as its cheaper.

all hdtvs use vesa, your monitor may not.

My idea stems from a standard store shelf system like this: http://www.made-in-china.com/image/2f0j00aBATZrQybLqoM/Tego-Metal-Shelf-HD-03-.jpg

but you would only use the insert bars wich you can buy on there own and then the anchor points and attach it to the vesa mount.

circuit city is closing if not closed and selling all there fixtures, if you have one still open near you you can probably get all this stuff really cheap & easy.

The idea of building my own system is a good one I suppose, I usually buy finished products when it comes down to issues like this. I also want a height-adjustment that doesnt require more then just pushing the monitor up and down, and having wall-mounts with sockets sortoff defeats the purpose, in a way.

The monitors do have vesa-mounts on the back, and I have 2 old wallmounts (bad clumsy ones) I could take appart for sockets, and perhaps build something, ill actually give it some thought later tonight ;-)

And thanks for the shop-tip, but its on the wrong side of the ocean :)
