    Want Large Format Printer

Title is pretty self explanatory. I want a large format printer that can do up to 11x17 (so tabloid/ledger size) in color. It'll be used mostly for my projects as it's starting to get costly to print all of my projects at the printer (I'll save that for the nice stuff :p). I don't need super duper professional grade stuff, but I'd like as much quality as I can for value, just to print out the smaller less important submissions.

At the moment I'm considering a refurbished Brother 6890 for 130$ or a new HP 7500A for 300$.

Anyone have any opinions on those or any other suggestions?

I have two large format printers, both HP, both great units. One is the designjet 130. I can't remember my 13" printer model number. Worked great for me

i have a Epson Stylus Photo 1400 at work
i have a Canon Pro 9000 Mark II at home

i tend to like photos off the canon more...
the epson does fine for my work needs...

both have separate ink tanks... unlike my old 1280, all colors bundled to one cartridge...

    personally, i like canon...

If I'm not mistaken the Epson 1400 was voted best wide format printer. Because of its stellar review I was tempted to get one but it was out of my budget for the present. I'm still looking, but don't want to pay much past $120. That most likely means something from HP.

Another con to the 1400 was that the cartridges can be expensive to replace.

I ordered the HP 7000 wide format printer. It didn't get anywhere near stellar reviews but it had the best price I can afford for now. I'll write a review as soon as I put some miles on it and replace the cartridges.
