Yeah, I bought a Sager NP9170, also looking for a waterproof backpack to carry it.

Any tips of models would be good!

Timbuk2 bags are pretty waterproof I think. I have a messenger bag from them and I haven't really had any issues with water.

You'll need to be more forthcoming than that. There is waterproof light rain, and then there's waterproof when you're caught in the middle of a full on torrent. My story:

One day last summer I was outdoors shooting video along the sea shore when I noticed a thunderstorm in the distance (the temperature dropped 10 degrees in a matter of seconds. It was eerie.) Anyway, I chanced that I could walk the mile back to shelter before the thunderstorm got to me.

I quickly gathered up all my things and began the trek back. At about three quarters of the way back the sky opened up an it came down in buckets. I mean winds, lightening, and an ice cold rain that was pelting my face like sand.

At first I panicked, then remembered I'd stashed a heavy duty oversize garbage bag in the bottom of my backpack way back when I first bought it and hoped I hadn't taken it out.

Fortunately the bag was still there and that saved not only my laptop, but because of its size, all my video equipment as well. Not only did I get soaked through and through, but the streets were so flooded that my feet were literally underwater.

Such are the summers outdoors in Florida. Make sure your pack can take whatever your environment can dish out.
