    Hi all,

I wonder if anyone has ordered a Waterfield Sleeve recently which upon arrival had "stains" on it. I recently ordered and received one and was surprised to see the stains as seen in the attached picture which has been sized down to about 486 kb.

I was surprised to see this especially after reading all about the Waterfield's premium quality products and great customer service here on this forum and all over the web. I immediately contacted Waterfield and after sending them a few pics, they said they would take care of me. But then the last email I received is as follows:

Thanks for the photos. Yes, what looks kind of like water marks is
actually from turning the SleeveCase right-side-out after being
sewn.... the Ballistic nylon fibers do this. This will go away in a
short time - if you have a firm dish brush just give it a quick scrub
and you will see them mostly diminish. Even if you do nothing but
use the case they will go away. If you can live with this for a
couple of weeks they should go away - if they don't then I'd be happy
to swap it out for you.

Let me know what we can do for you.

I responded that I would rather have a replacement since I don't want to carry the bag around for two weeks where I might cause other damage and make the sleeve totally unrefundable. I told them I would rather have a bag that's ready to use versus one that apparently needs two more weeks to lose it's stains.

Has anyone had this experience where the sleeve came with stains that eventually disappeared? The bag seems awfully wrinkled too. Honestly the sleeve seems used in my opinion but that would go against everything I have read about Waterfield. Thanks in advance for any advice regarding this.

Thanks for the advice. I did respond to Waterfield that I would prefer a replacement. I haven't heard anything since I sent that last email.

I guess I was a little surprised to get a bag with those "stains" and also to have Waterfield ask me to keep the bag for two weeks to wait for the stains to disappear. I did have another person look at the bag and they agreed that there are some kind of stains on the bag. I guess I'll wait and see if they send me response emails tomorrow otherwise I may need to send it back COD as suggested.

Update: After a little email tag, it appears that Waterfield is going to live up to their reputation. I'll post the final outcome when I get my new bag.

From Waterfield about five minutes ago:

We will send out a replacement sleevecase and piggyback (triple QA checked;) first thing tomorrow. You can use that case in the meantime if need be.
I am apologize for any frustration regarding your order but we will do our best to get it right.

I will send delivery confirmation in the morning.

Yes, I agree. Overall, I like the sleeve a lot. I ordered it with the flap, strap and piggyback. I think it's exactly what I was looking for. Except for this little cust svc hiccup, I think I'll be one satisfied customer when all is said and done.

    Last update:

I received Waterfield's replacement sleeve today and the verdict is: Awesome!

Please see the attached jpg's and judge for yourself. I have to say Waterfield lived up to their reputation and then some IMHO. Personalized emails and packages along with the final outcome of this purchase has guaranteed them that I will be a repeat customer. I am sending back the other sleeve & piggyback using the prepaid postage sticker they sent me. I think if I had waited two weeks, the "stains" probably would have disappeared as they already seem to be going away (as they advised and said would happen). But I didn't want to wait the two weeks and also didn't want to risk damaging the sleeve in some way where it was not able to be evenly exchanged. Also, if Waterfield had a SF brick and mortar store and I was able to walk into it and if both of these sleeves were hanging on the sales rack, then I would have definitely chosen the new sleeve over the original sleeve as the one I was taking home with me. Hopefully that makes sense.

Now I can use my sleeve without any reservations. Big Thumbs up to Waterfield's customer service!!
