Can anyone recommend a good and cheap webcam? I'm moving away and need a good one to hook up to a dv8000. I guess the proliferation of internal cams has made these almost extinct.
Thanks in advance.

How much are you planning on spending exactly, around 70-100$ youll get top of the line logitech quick cam pro series
-
no. they're still around. 50 bucks will still you a decent one. if you spend more you can get better ones like x2p said. there's even better, but they're hard to find in stores, and usually priced like 200-700 dollars and more.

I have a 1.3 mega pixels and its choppy but its fine for me. if you want pure smoothness than get at least 2.0

It doesn't have to be pristine. I'm just looking for something the equivalent to my internal. And cheap. Intergrated mic is not a necessity either.

Has anyone tried Creative's offerings?

I saw this: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3360&review=Logitech+Quick+Cam+Pro
but the webcam I pickup doesn't have to have a mic. It also will be used in normal light.
